ALEX KANE RETIRES AS SSUSA HAWAII STATE DIRECTOR

Alex Kane

Alex Kane, who recently celebrated his 80th birthday, is retiring as Senior Softball-USA Hawaii State Director.

Kane began running senior softball leagues in Hawaii in 2001 and got involved in SSUSA in 2004. He became the Hawaii State Director in 2007.

Kane started playing softball in 1958 in Hawaii after graduating from the University of Utah. From 1958 to1994, he worked for the Department of Education in Hawaii as a physical education teacher, while also coaching football and baseball.

Along with serving as a state director for SSUSA and running qualifiers in Hawaii, Kane also has managed a number of teams, including Makua Ali, Makule Kane and Hawaii Kanaono. He’s brought his teams to the mainland for several SSUSA tournaments, including the World Masters Championships and the Winter World Championships.
