ED SCHELL NAMED NEW SSUSA HAWAII STATE DIRECTOR

Ed Schell

Ed Schell, who’s been playing senior softball for more than 20 years and a longtime member of Hawaii Masters, has been named the Hawaii State Director for Senior Softball-USA.

“I want to continue and build on the good work that Alex Kane has done, as well as Benny Villaverde over the last 20 years,” said Schell on being named the new director. “I want to get more teams from Hawaii involved and qualified for tournaments.”

Along with playing in SSUSA tournaments, he also has participated in numerous SSUSA international tours, traveling to Spain, Italy, Ireland, Scotland and most recently Taiwan. Schell is also a registered ASA umpire for the past 20 years, as well as a registered SSUSA umpire over the past 10 years.

Schell has played an instrumental role in helping SSUSA with the Hawaiian cruise tours over the years. He is a retired accounting professor, working at his alma mater, the University of Hawaii – Manoa, as well as at the Community College level.
