Bob Dobbins Memorial - 32nd Annual Sidewinders Tournament

PEORIA, Ariz. - The Bob Dobbins Memorial, 32nd Annual Sidewinders Tournament took place Feb. 15-17 at the Rio Vista Softball complex. This year’s tournament was shortened, as weekend play for the 50, 55 and 60 divisions were eliminated due to wet grounds.

During weekday play, the six-team 65 division round-robin play was won by Pebble Creek with a 4-1 record. By way of the best run differential, the Arizona Ancients took second, ahead of Rox and Sidewinders who also finished at 3 wins and two losses.

In the 70’s division single elimination bracket, Old Pueblo beat the West Valley 70’s 18-16 to take home the championship plaque.

Sidewinders defeated Outlaws to earn their way into the championship game in the 75’s division. In the championship game, No. 1 seed Kokopelli defeated the Sidewinders 15-14 in the single elimination format.

The Rec division played a five-game round-robin format. Sun City West and Wisconsin finished with 4-1 records. Wisconsin defeated Sun City West in their head to head meeting to claim the championship.
