2017 Midwest Series Continues with Fifth Annual Oil City Classic

TULSA, OK --- The 2017 Oil City Classic was held here at Carl Smith Softball Complex, May 4-7, with 44 teams in attendance.
Starting with the five-team Men’s 50 Major Plus / 50 Major / 55 Major division, KC Classics (MO) took the top spot defeating Oklahoma Rhino in the championship game, 21-6. Team Arkansas rounded out the top three finishers.
In the seven-team Men’s 50 AAA division, KC Vintage (MO) escaped the elimination side of the bracket to double-dip Southwest Thunder (MO), winning the championship and "if" game by scores of 32-31 and 22-11, respectively. Drury Inn Road Dogs (MO) finished in third place.
The five-team Men’s 55 AAA/AA division would also see an “if” game, as KC Renegades 55's (MO) double-dipped JR Logistics (AR) by scores of 24-16 and 27-18, in the championship and "if" game, respectively. JR Logistics started bracket play on fire, winning three straight games, including an 18-16 win over KC Renegades, before dropping back-to-back games. Nebraska Silver Bullets finished in third place.
After losing their opening game in bracket play, top seed Mayhem (OK) rattled off four straight wins, including two in a row over Sport's Image (MO), 21-10 and 16-12, in the championship and “if” game, respectively, to win the four-team Men’s 60 Major division. Nebraska 60’s finished in third place.
Carriage Homes (AR) won the four-team Men’s 60 AAA division going 3-0 in bracket play, including a 23-12 win over KC Thunder (MO). Oklahoma Street Outlaws rounded out the top three.
Dallas Spurs took the three-team Men’s 60 AA division, defeating R & K Drywall (OK), 16-12, in the “if” game, after dropping the championship game, 17-10.
In the six-team Men’s 65 Major/AAA division, top seed Boyd Metals (AR) ran through bracket play with a 3-0 record. USA Patriots (OK) made a strong push through the elimination bracket, winning four straight games to reach the championship, before forfeiting the final against Boyd Metals. Texas Legends finished in third place.
R & D Leverage (MO) won the three-team Men’s 65 AA division, defeating Dallas Spurs in the championship game, 23-10.
Top seed US Pallet (MO) won the four-team Men’s 70 Major/AAA division, edging out Okies (OK), 26-25, in the championship game. Bank of Rison (AR) finished in third place.
Hill Contracting 75's (TX) won the three-team Men’s 75 Major/AAA division.
