Robert "Bob" Poulin
Bob “Swamp” Poulin, 70, of Windsor, Ontario Canada, and Avon Park, FL, died on Sept. 30 from cancer.
Enjoying a nine-year career in SSUSA beginning with the Windsor Chiefs 55 in 2008, Poulin was a long-time member of both Michigan Express 60 and Windsor Chiefs 65.
“Bob had a passion for slo-pitch softball,” said Dave Prpich, manager of Windsor Chiefs 70. “He had an illustrious playing career on both sides of the border, and was a standout pitcher and hitter for the Windsor Chiefs leading the team to numerous championships in Canada and the United States. Bob was the driving force behind getting the team to expand their tournament schedule into the U.S.”
“One of the many highlights of Bob’s career was being named the MVP at the 2014 Tournament of Champions, where the Chiefs captured the 65 AAA title behind his superb pitching and hitting,” continued Prpich.
Poulin is survived by his wife, Nancy, two daughters, and three grandsons.
