2018 Aggieland Classic Recap

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. – The 2018 Aggieland Classic was held here at Veterans Park, July 19-22, with 45 teams in action.

In the Men’s 40 Division, Frank’s Country Store defeated Austin Classics and Daniels Head Insurance Agency/FREAKS in bracket play to win the division.

Mixed Breed ran the gauntlet in the Men’s 50-55 Platinum Division, winning four straight games on Championship Sunday, including back-to-back wins over Texas Mavericks in the championship and “if” game. Rock n Legends finished in third place.

In the largest division of the tournament, the 11-team Men’s 50 Silver Division, ManCave/WorkSteps posted a perfect 4-0 record in bracket play, including a 15-9 win over top seed CTX Lumberjax in the championship game. Demolition finished in third place. Texas Bulletts made a strong push through the elimination side of the bracket to finish fourth.

Top seed Texas Heat won the six-team Men’s 55 Silver Division, with Crossfire finishing in second place. Buc’s rounded out the top three finishers.

In the Men’s 60 Division, Texas Thunder won the Platinum Division; while Texas Legends won the Silver Division.

Louisiana Legends won the three-team Men’s 65 AAA Division, edging out Houston Classic Seniors 14-13 in the championship game.

Another three-team division, the Men’s 70-75 Major Division, was won by San Antonio Silver Streaks, who defeated San Antonio Legends, 8-4, in the championship game.

STILL defeated Texas Classics 70’s in the “if” game 12-8 after losing the championship game, 20-17, to win the Men’s 70 AAA Division. Grey Sox finished in third place.

The Men’s 75 AAA Division featured a best two-out-of-three game series, as Texas Legends swept San Antonio Desperados by scores of 7-6 and 8-4, respectively.
