John Harvey, of The Daily Progress in Charlottesville, VA, highlighted Larry Stremikis as part of the "Distinguished Dozen" series.

Stremikis, 75, who played with Vacar Stars (2010, 2013 - 2015) in SSUSA, founded the Charlottesville Retreads in 2002, a senior softball organization that "promotes physical fitness and friendly competition in Charlottesville, as well as a kinship among seniors that extends well beyond the softball diamond."
