North American and International Co-Ed Divisions Set to Take Shape in 2019

Feb. 1, 2019

SACRAMENTO – Senior Softball-USA (SSUSA) will be expanding on the North American and International Co-Ed Divisions following a successful inaugural Co-Ed Division at the 2018 LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters Championships, which drew teams from Germany and Panama, as well as two U.S. teams.

“We are partnering with Independent Sports Association (ISA) to offer co-ed divisions in some of our U.S. tournaments and we are in the process of expanding co-ed play with Slo-Pitch National (SPN) in Canada for our North American Division,” said Fran Dowell, SSUSA executive director.

The SSUSA staff is currently inviting many of the International teams that SSUSA has competed with over the past 30 years in 40 countries.

“We were pleased with the overwhelming response to the co-ed division, which prompted us to expand the program for 2019,” said Dowell.

For 2019, the International Co-Ed Division will take place during the fourth and final session of the LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters Championships, Saturday – Sunday, Oct. 5 – 6.
