SPA Executive Director Ridge Hooks Dies
April 1, 2020
William "Ridge" Hooks
It is with a great deal of sorrow that Senior Softball USA (SSUSA) reports the death of Ridge Hooks, Executive Director of the Softball Players Association (SPA) and a great friend to me and to our sport.
Ridge was an excellent player on several top-level teams before buying SPA more than two decades ago. Ridge brought all eight (8) national softball associations together in 1999 for the first of many National Senior Softball Summits, which created a foundation for open discussion among competing associations.
He was a close personal friend and a good man. Senior Softball players and teams will miss him.

In Loving Memory of Ridge Hooks
It is with great regret that we must report the passing of our great friend and leader, Mr. William "Ridge" Hooks.
Ridge went to be with the lord April 5, 2020, following a lengthy illness and hospital stay in Texas.
A true friend, man of God, great softball person, and our SPA Executive Director, Ridge will be sorely missed. Please join us in prayer for Ridge's entire family during this difficult time.
Due to the COVID-19 virus, service attendance will be limited, however online access and/or a later celebration of life are being considered and worked on at this time. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to a scholarship fund, with details yet to be announced.
God Bless You Ridge
