COVID Cases Update

SACRAMENTO – Seventeen people on seven  different teams have reported positive COVID-19 tests in the first session (55/60 men) of the 2020 LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters Championships (WMC). Three cases have been reported in the second session (65-85 men) and no cases in the third session (40 Masters men and women). Only one of the cases has required hospitalization.

The first three sessions of the WMC attracted 315 teams and almost 10,000 players and their families.

The cases reported include:
Two players and a friend from a 60AA Colorado team.
Coach of a 60 AA Oklahoma team.
A pitcher from a 60AA team from Nevada.
A player from a 60 Major team from Minnesota. A player, his wife, and daughter from a 55AAA Southern California team.
Seven players and the coach of a 55 and 60 Major-Plus teams from Texas. The initial player became ill on the second day of play. That player is being hospitalized with pneumonia.
A player from a 65 Major team from Nevada.
A player from a 65 Major-Plus team from California.
A player from 75 AAA team from Arizona.
