J W "Dub" Austin member of the Georgia/Alabama Masters, age 61 of Sugar Hill Georgia passed away on April 10, 2011.

J W served in the Marine Corp in Vietnam. Later in life he served with honor and dedication in his career in law enforcement.

J W loved softball and especially senior softball. As a member of the Georgia/Alabama Masters, J W was one of those special players who could play almost any position. He would hit a home run as needed or a game-winning base hit.

He was the total team player.

J W was always quick with a smile, a joke and a hand up to anyone who needed it. If you don't recognize his name, you might recognize him by his smile and sunglasses. J W was not only a teammate but also a brother and friend.

J W's last tournament in March in Montgomery Alabama he was chosen All-Tournament and lead the team in hitting with a .760 batting average, said Dale McWhorter, the Georgia/Alabama Masters manager. As a member of the Georgia/Alabama Masters for the last 4 years he will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

He is survived by his wife Dianne, son Walt and numerous step-children, step-grandchildren and brothers.
