SURVEY: HAWAIIAN CRUISE, IRELAND TOP CHOICES

Oct. 1, 2011 – Senior Softball-USA

In the first survey of favorite trips to take, international senior softball players overwhelmingly embraced Hawaii.

The Classic Hawaii Cruise received 32.4 percent of the first-choice ballots, almost twice as many as the next highest vote-getter.

The Celtic (Ireland/Scotland) Tour came in second, and the Classic Italy Tour came in third.

International players were asked to rate potential trips in order of preference.

“We wanted our fellow senior softball international travelers to have a say in where we go in 2012,” said Susan Ruth, director of International Sports Holidays, which runs the SSUSA International Tours.

“So it’s Hawaii in March and Ireland in June or July for 2012,” said Ruth.

She said details would be announced soon, but the Hawaii Tour is expected to include a seven-day cruise and three days in Honolulu for a tournament. Softball, sightseeing and shopping are planned for cruise ship stops on Maui, Kauai and the Big Island.

The two-week Celtic Tour encompasses the wonderful sights, softball games and shopping in both Ireland and in the highlands and cities of Scotland.
