Hall of Famer Horvath Called Flawless at 2nd Base
June 1, 2013
Hall of Famer Michael Horvath died in Dearborn, Mich., at age 87 in March.
Horvath, who began playing senior softball in 1995, had a banner year in 1997 winning All American honors in three tournaments, MVP in another and his team won the World Championships.
In 2001, he was named both All American and All Star in the SPA Nationals, and his team also won the senior World Series.
Horvath was inducted into the National Senior Softball Hall of Fame in 2003 as a player. His teammates cited his “flawless performance at second base, and lifetime .600 average.”
