Manager Meeting

Unfortunately, we are not going to be able to have an actual meeting on Thursday night before we start play on Friday morning.

We had planned on having a little memorial for Jerry Jackson at the meeting.  Since we can not do that, we would ask that when you get ready to play your first game on Friday that you get together with your team and have a moment of silence in his memory and to honor Jerry… it would be greatly appreciated!!!

Please read ALL the rules below and pass along to your players, fans, spectators, etc.

All teams will be required to hit the ISA 44/400 XROCK softball

Teams will need to pick up all their trash in the dugout after their game.

Teams waiting to go into the dugouts will need to wait until the other team has cleared the dugout and the dugout has been sprayed down before entering.

Teams will need to bring their wavier forms to the check in table, they must be filled out and signed prior to bringing them to be turned in.

ALL players should have a valid form of ID with a photo at all times.

Team Check In:  We will have Directors at the top 4 fields and the bottom 2 fields – Check in with the Directors at the fields that you play your first game.

We will not have coolers set up with water in the dugouts.

When you turn in your score sheet, we will mark the players that are there off on the rosters.

You will have to bring your own chairs as the bleachers are closed off or removed.

Masks or face coverings are mandatory in Indiana.

When your game is being played, and you are playing – you are not required to have a mask or face covering on.

RESPECT – let us respect one another and use common sense!!!

Be at the fields, with all your paperwork done and ready to play 30 minutes before all your games.

These are from Lincoln Park and we need to make sure to follow these Park Rules…

  • No coolers containing food, but teams may bring in drinks to stay hydrated. Concessions staff will not provide free ice or free water or free refills, all items must be purchased (even if you have your own cup). No glass containers permitted in the team cooler.
  • Consumption of alcoholic beverages shall be prohibited in the playing and spectator areas. Persons observed consuming alcohol in these stated areas will be banned from such areas during use by Columbus Parks and Recreation Department.
  • No pets (with the exception of service dogs) are allowed inside any gated areas, dugouts or in the spectator seating areas.
  • We strongly discourage the use of tobacco at our sporting complexes. If you chose to smoke, please do so at the designated areas we’ve established inside the park (red cigarette extinguishers). You must stay at least 8 feet from any building per city smoking ordinance.
  • When warming up prior to games, teams/players are only permitted to be hitting from the warning track and not on the turf into the fencing. (Translation, NO HITTING IN THE OUTFIELD)
  • No drones are permitted to fly in the location unless prior approval is provided by the Parks Department Director of Sports Programs.
  • No drug use, Columbus Police Department will be immediately dispatched at the suspicion of drug use.
  • No skateboards, inline skate, bicycles, scooters (motorized or not), hoover boards or other vehicles (excluding assistive mobility devices) allowed.
  • Face coverings are mandatory by ISA staff, umpires, spectators, and players when not playing in a game. Columbus Parks and Recreation staff will be in face coverings for your protection. Not following the mandate will be cause for removal from our facility.

2020 ISA SENIOR TOURNAMENT RULES

  • Player’s Identification: All players must have a valid photo ID.
  • All division winners qualify for the SSUSA Tournament of Champions.  You must win the bracket and your winning team’s roster must be approved by SSUSA Staff.
  • Count: 3 balls and 2 strikes with extra foul
  • Game Cards – Each team must fill out a game card every game.  All players that are going to play must be listed on the game card.  If a player is not listed on the game card, he cannot play that game.
  • TIME LIMIT: 65 min. + 1 inning in seed games and 70 min. + 1 inning in bracket play.  Championship Game = 7 innings, no time limit.
  • BATTING ORDER: A team may bat everyone on their roster.  Any ten can play defense (11 for 70+ and older) but the batting order must stay the same.
  • You must have a minimum of 9 players (10 for 70+and older) to start and finish a game.
  • PITCHING: A pitched ball must go a minimum of 6 feet and not exceed a maximum of 12 feet from the ground.  Illegal pitch will be called in the air.
  • PITCHING BOX: The pitcher can pitch from anywhere within the 10-foot box.
  • STRIKE ZONE: Any legal pitch that hits the strike mat will be called a strike.
  • COURTESY RUNNER RULE: You can have as many courtesy runners per inning as you want.  However, a courtesy runner can only run once per inning and if you have been ran for, you cannot run that inning.  Also, if a courtesy runner in on base when it is his turn to bat, he is out as a courtesy runner and then he bats.
  • SAFETY BASE AT FIRST BASE WILL BE USED.  All base runners must touch the orange base on the initial play if a play is being made on him.
  • SLIDING into home or first base is permitted to avoid a collision.
  • RUN RULE: We will use the 5 run per inning rule.  The run rule is 15 runs after 5 innings, for Major plus only, in bracket games only.
  • Flip Flop Rule: We will use the flip flop rule in all games.  The flip-flop rule will be invoked in any game when there is a 10-run differential in favor of the visiting team at the start of the "open inning." If the visiting team is ahead by ten or more runs, the home team will remain at bat and start a new at-bats (beginning their seventh or last inning at-bats), meaning all runners then on base will return to the dugout. It will be an open inning. If the home team fails to tie or go ahead of the visiting team, the game ends and the visiting team wins. If the home team ties or goes ahead, the visiting team takes its turn at bat.
  • HOME RUN RULE:
  • Hit and sit on all Home Runs.  Home Run rule of LOWER rated team is used.
  • Major+ = 9 per team per game, Outs thereafter
  • Major = 6 per team per game, Outs thereafter
  • AAA = 3 per team per game, Outs thereafter
  • AA = 1 per team per game, Outs thereafter
  • NOTE: ALL TEAMS SHOULD BE AT THE CORRECT DIAMOND READY TO PLAY 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO GAME TIME.
  • In case of rain, just come to the ballpark.
  • No Music, music devices or noise makers are allowed in the park.

Thanks for playing ISA !!!
