Discussion: Reno Bracket Question

In the men's 65 AAA bracket there were 13 teams. Our team was seeded 12th and were lucky enough to beat the #5 seed in the first round on Tuesday afternoon. On Wednesdy morning at 9:30 we lost. Which put us in the elimation bracket. We then had to play at 11 am, 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm. The team we played at 3:30 was the team we beat in the first round of the tournament. On Wednesday they played at 9:30, had an if game at 2 PM that was not played and the 3:30 game against us. Because the 3:30 game on Wednesday was only their 2nd game that day and it was our fourth with no break, they beat us easily.

My question is why is a team that wins the first round and loses in the second round given such a difficult schedule while a team that loses in the first round is given an easy schedule? Bill
