Tom, if you are still looking for a team we are trying to fill out our roster for Utah. I will not be going, so we need an outfielder to take my place. The team is Mississauga Legends from Ontario. Contact our Manager, Jim Carey by email at jjcarey@sympatico.ca or by phone at 416-621-2218.

Discussion: Snowbird rule

In previous years I had a snowbird card and was on the roster of both a Florida and a northern team.

This year I turned 75 and my renewal card does not indicate a snowbird designation. I am on the roster of a Florida team and will go on the roster of a 75 team in Michigan starting in March. Does my lifetime 75 card allow me to be on two rosters or do I have to get a release each time I go north/south?

My team is not playing at Fort Myers, so I am looking for a team that needs an outfielder. I am 74 but will turn 75 next year, so can play 75 AAA or 70 AAA or 70AA. I live in Ontario but also qualify as a snowbird for Florida 70 teams. Singles/doubles hitter with great glove and speed. Contact by email at brice@vianet.ca or through this message board.

Discussion: LASIK, bifocals & contacts question

My experience is similar to Curveball's. In my 60s, I wore bifocals and had cataracts. As an outfielder I had trouble seeing the direction of the ball coming off the bat and had to quit playing for two years. I then had my cataract surgery followed by LASIK giving me 20-20 vision. I have been back playing for 8 years and see the ball the second it leaves the bat. Both eyes must be the same to give you the depth perception required.

Need to pickup a new bat for SSUSA and SPA tournaments. Used Miken Freak Black EL team bats this summer up north for UTrip and really liked them. Is this new Black the equivalent in a 1.21?
