Discussion: playing fields

at the past reno invitational tourney one of the complexes assigned was san raphael. when we arrived at the field the grass was not mowed, the infield was covered with rocks, and the infield itself was as hard as concrete. during our games there i saw more players lose their footing and fall, more bad bounces in both the outfield and infields and infielders with bruises from being hit by wayward ground balls. every team we followed was complaining about the playing conditions, which were indeed disgraceful and unsafe. for a major tournament at a major cost senior players deserve to play at safe decent fields. if golden eagle is the only decent park then spread the tournament out over more weeks. player safety as well as enjoyment should go hand in hand. in reno playing at san raphael park, neither was achieved for many players.
