June 6, 2015 rpaulas | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Old stories of bat doctoring Hey all, thanks so much for the help. I don't know if anyone lives in the Bay Area and would allow me to check out the process of how a bat is shaved/doctored... but if there is, I'd love to meet and see how it works. June 1, 2015 rpaulas | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Old stories of bat doctoring Hey group, I'm a writer, and I'm writing a piece for SB Nation Longform about old methods that softball players used to use in order to cheat. Back in the day, when rules weren't as official. Was there scuffing of the ball? Messing around with the bat? I heard one story of someone putting the softball in the freezer so they'd get harder overnight. Is this accurate? Any and all stories will do. Feel free to shoot me an email/text when you get a chance and we'll hopefully connect. Best, Rick Paulas rickpaulas@gmail.com/310-467-0608 |
