Discussion: 2021 DeMarini Denny Crine

I bought the demarini denny crine 2021 senior, i was planning on using it at the worlds this week and after 300-400 cuts in very favorable weather in southern California using 44/375 the bat felt flat like it deflated, the bat has no cracks ( I check bats after every Bp session) so i will swing the Adidas Melee green 13" with well over 1000 swings in the last 3 years , kind of disappointing in the end result.

Discussion: face masks

since i have been playing(55AAA) senior ball and moved to the infield due to injury(3B which is a shooting gallery)not to mention additional leg protection, cup and an evoshield chest piece, i would not be caught without a face mask,i have the boombah with a movision shield for additional protection, first tourney i wore it, i took a wicked hop off the left cheek in vegas, it took absolutely no time to adjust (former catcher ) i have been looking in to a lacrosse/hockey style with a throat guard.

Discussion: Home run hitting contest with a twist?

this sounds like a great idea if indeed it comes to fruition, great publicity for the "bat company" seems to make sense for a charity to be the beneficiary of a cash match from the organizers of the tournament as well sounds like a win-win

Discussion: batters box

As per lowprofile's comment about being called "out of the box" i had an incident in Vegas this year, when the umpire told me to get in the box ,and there was no box to be had! needless to say i was rather perplexed considering the circumstances, If i remember the box dimensions 4x6 ft??, i don't have a stride like Lowprofile(very few do!!) i believe there was some inconsistent enforcing of the rule, All we want as players is consistent enforcement of the rules, with that being said i understand there is a lot of things happening on the field for the Umpire to watch and its a thankless job, i had a run in with one saw him the next day,He Said" looks like your stuck with me again" i smiled and said "today is a new day"

Discussion: vegas tournaments

I would like to give SSUSA some well deserved credit for putting on what is a very difficult undertaking(logistically) pleasing all 600+ teams, sure there were teams that didn't quite look the part of there classifications, but then again its difficult for the governing body to regulate considering the amount of teams, even more difficult to regulate the neighborhoods of the fields, with that being said safety is a concern for all, my team played a lorenzi, there was some questionable characters milling about, but that can be said for alot of fields across the country,Lets not lose sight of the objective here people, we are here to compete have fun and with any luck do well,by the way my team was 0-5 still had a blast, this tournament organization is a heck of alot better than the other options out there, in closing i would like to say"Keep up the good work " i for one enjoy the efforts of SSUSA and the appreciate the hard work that goes into planning tournaments, Props to SSUSA

Discussion: hitting drills

i have one that works for me that i was told about when i was in little league back in the early 70's " grab you shirt with your teeth at the seam where the sleeve joins the body of the shirt ,start your swing you will know when to release -start slowly to get used to it, sounds crazy but it works for me and a few others who have tried it
