| Aug. 9, 2004 NORM14 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: BATTING - RULE 12.3 D A new rule has been introduced as follows: The batter shall not step out of the box toward the pitcher - or run toward the pitcher - while swinging. EFFECT ball is dead, batter is out and the runners may not advance. Question ? Does this mean you cannot run up on a pitch? Will someone please explain it. Umpires and tournament officials will not enforce it. COMMENTS PLEASE ! |
