DRAFT Game Schedules and Brackets for the 2013 Jim Sherman Memorial Northwest Championships in Portland, OR, have been posted and are available from the links below and on the event's Tournament Page ... As always, these TENTATIVE schedules are subject to change and become final ONLY when released as "OFFICIAL" at the Manager's meeting before play commences ...

NOTE: Managers who do NOT attend the meeting will be presumed to be fully informed on ALL matters (such as schedule changes, tourney formats and rules issues) discussed at the meeting. Tournament rosters are “frozen” as of the Manager’s Meeting. NO on-site player additions are allowed without Tournament Director approval before team’s first game. Managers who do not attend Manager Meeting, and do not send a representative, will be prohibited from beginning tournament play before check-in with Field Director and are prohibited from Roster additions ...

The Master Games & Fields Grid, an aerial map of the Delta Park and the Participating Teams List have also been posted ... Good luck to all!

MEN'S 50+ PLATINUM DIVISION REVISION • The Men's 50-Platinum division has been revised to reflect the withdrawal of the CornerStone 50's (OR) on Monday ... The division is reduced to four teams (from five) and the required schedule and bracket format changes have been posted online ...

There is also one minor revision in the 60-Major bracket ... Game #1 moves from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday ... We apologize for any inconveniences caused by these changes, which were due to circumstances outside of our control ... Good luck to all!

ADVERSE WEATHER PROCEDURES/POLICY - There has been some rain overnight Wednesday, with occasional showers in the immediate forecast ... The following information may be helpful to Managers and players as the tournament continues through Sunday ...

ALL play/no-play decisions are made at the fields of play, at game time ... Phone calls to the SSUSA offices will NOT be informative or authoritative as to current conditions and/or potential schedule adjustments ... Avoid the possibility of forfeits by being present at the tournament site and ready to play when originally scheduled ...

• The SSUSA Official Rulebook Section 11 (pg. 56) governs procedures to be implemented in the event of adverse weather, as follows...

"...If game times must be reduced because of time limitations due to inclement weather, or other acts of God, the following methods may be implemented, in priority order:

A. Games may be reduced to five innings, with the 5th inning being the open inning.
B. Batters may have a one-one count when they enter the batter's box.
C. In severe time restrictions, the batter may be allowed only one strike..."

Good luck to all!
