Bruce, thank God you are not at Freedom. Worst fields I have ever seen! I am talking outfields. These are so bad, I cannot describe them. An umpire told me last weekend that because they are building a Bif League Dreams there, the city is no longer caring for them. You guys at Freedom, good luck!

Hey Stoneman,

What great games we had against you and the Mavericks last weekend.
That was a stellar squad and they managed to put you up
when I least wanted to see someone hit the ball as hard as you do and did.
You can run too, for an old man.
It's' great to see someone with your enthusiam for life and softball
running around, having fun and playing hard like a teenager.
Best to you and say hi to Ricky for me.

We didn't play @ Lorenzi after all. Freedom Park infields were as good as I've ever seen them, which isn't saying an awful lot. But the outfields sucked...
As much as the LVSSA tries to put together a good product, I personally do not understand why they put the major + teams @ Freedom. We were told that we'd be @ Lorenzi but were moved after the rains. No one has offered an adequate explanation of why.
I believe that some time was lost Friday pm in that the fields could have been worked. However, the game shortening rules made sense and was fair (equal) for all.
I know that the LVSSA is a non-profit and that a heck of a lot of senior guys put in a great deal of effort to make it as enjoyable for us as they can. I would feel better if someone would take the responsibility for moving us from one field to another. In speaking with the 55 director, he denied any accountability. Freedom Park is no place to hold one of the best events of the year. We played there last year as well and the 55 major division played at Lorenzi. It was supposed to flip flop this year.
They had 6 teams in our division and this was great. In my view, they were among the best major + teams.
How did the major + and major divisions finish?

THE Wood:: Lorenzi Park has 3 fields that r roughly 295 feet. Field # 4, is 300' in left, 305' in center, 320' in right center, & 290' down right field line. This field, # 4 is the field that has 4 light poles inside the fence. The light poles r @ about 260 or so feet. (This is not safe.)
The C. of L.V. Parks & Rec, have cut down on their field mantainance. Lorenzi, use to have 2 men that worked the 4 fields & 2 men that worked the rest of the park. Lorenzi, Doc Romeo, Freedom, r down to 1 man working the fields part time & must spend time work' in the rest of the park. The City, still has 2 men help' w/ the fields & working the rest of the Park.
Each park, had a Field Director. Then there is the Tournament Director. There also, is a Tournament Comminity. The SSWC, had a rep going to all of the parks & checking out the games. As told to me by this SSWC REP, (he) the SSWC REP, made out all of the schedules, fields, game time, & helped w/ the seeding. I HOPE THAT ALL THAT IS STATED IS 100% CORRECT.
LAST POINT::: Some of the parks had 2 different directors. In some cases, a person may have been the Field Director 1, 2, or all 3 days. I know of several players that were Field Directors, & these men will never do that job again. The witches & hags were very rude & so were several male players.
Hope this helps, Bob. P.S.:: R U STILL in P.E.T.A.?

Stone, you provided some useful data but I'm not sure how relevant it is to my concern. We were originally scheduled to play @ Lorenzi but were switched after the rains. The person that called me said this was due to our division only having 6 teams, which was also true before the rains. He went on to say that there were only 3 usable fields @ Lorenzi (also true prior to the rains).
Somehow they moved the major division to Lorenzi and they had more teams (requiring more fields). Freedom had 4 usable fields. The 50 major + were allowed to use Lorenzi (the previous weekend).
Why were we REALLY moved?
I've honestly forgotten what PETA means so I can't honestly answer you on that.
