Dec. 17 batguyaz 134 posts | Is there a product that will help me get a better grip on the ball and the bat. My hands get tight in the cold and I am having a hard time holding the ball. For batting I started using batting gloves but still have a hard time. Thanks for any help here... |
Dec. 17 Hit the gap Men's 70 154 posts | Hi batguyaz. The batting gloves will help with the bat. Keep in mind that you want to have a very loose grip on the bat. Just enough grip to keep it from flying out of your hands on the follow through. Loose grip = more bat speed. Try the old rosin bag for throwing. It might help. |
Dec. 17 batguyaz 134 posts | Thanks for tip. I tried rosen but was hoping to get something sticky for the thowing but no not want to have it get on the ball. My fingers are having a hard time closing in thowing to first base. thanks again... |
Dec. 17 Robo2 238 posts | I suggest wearing two gloves. Get them a little big so that when you sweat they can still be put on and off easily. I use "Firm Grip". Pine paste in a white tume (about $8). Put some on the backstop pole and use as necessary. Gloves: either Turbo Slot or Tynol. |

Dec. 17 doubleplay10 14 posts | For throwing in colder weather, I've sometimes gone to putting a small amount of Firmgrip on the backside of my glove between innings. I then slightly touch it, mix it with some dirt and work it into my throwing fingers, ready for defense. A new ball may require another touch of it. Also, try to keep the throwing fingers warm prior to each pitch (obviously, don't get the Firmgrip in your pockets!). Bob Falkins Kayson's Grille |
