Bat banning ?
Most of us here in Az are switching to the new senior ASA bat. It hits better the the freak which we are not wondering, since it is better than the freak will it to be banned in 2008.
Our group has bought a bunch of the black bat (we know about the yellow) and we should have found out before, any chance of banning ??

It's REALLY hard to trust ASA with the way they have banned bats seemingly at their own whim. A lot of us that play league + tournaments are facing the same concern. Do we pick out a bat for 2007 just to have it banned partially through the year or wait until the bat has made it through one season. As far as I have read I think we can use the Freak this season. If that is the case I am going to hold for awhile using the Freak (even though I don't care for the way it swings/feels but the results are good) until we know for sure what is going to be a good replacement bat that ASA won't screw up.

The RESR1 (yellow) was probably never sent in for testing. Maybe they coudn't meet ? $$$'s ? they wanted. But a fast pitch and the RESR2 bat (which I figure is the black one) are on the list of tested bats. No Rip-It bats are on the banned list however. SoI wonder where that leaves the Elite Senior yellow bat?
I doubt no one really knows what will happen 2 yrs away, but look at what ASA has done in the past.... I doubt there is a bat out there that they have ever banned that would compare to the Freak. ASA's history repeats itself, especially when it concerns bats. OK; banned, ok; if recert, re-banned. etc etc.
I doubt there is a ASA board member who has a say in all this shi? that plays regularly, in tournaments. If there were, I think they would listen to the masses.

Hi Everyone,

First, to help clear up some confusion about the ASA bat banning in general. In 2004, ASA switched from a 100mph testing standard to 98mph. At the same time, ASA switched to a new stamp for the 98mph standard, but also grandfathered in bats that had the old 100mph ASA approved stamp on them.

It is these older 100mph bats with the old ASA stamps that are being banned on January 2008, and they are not being "banned" inasmuch as they are simply losing their grandfathered status.

The Rip-It Senior ASA has been fully tested and approved by ASA, meets all requirements set by ASA, and has the 2004 ASA stamp on it. You should be 100% confident that the Rip-It Senior ASA is fully approved and will not be banned by ASA.

As a matter of fact, we guarantee that the Rip-It Senior ASA will not be banned by ASA. If the Rip-It Senior ASA bat is banned, we will offer a full refund to all customers who have purchased the bat. This refund will be available for all bats, new or used.

Thank you, and Happy Holidays.

Thanks for the update, we belive the bat is good to go and will not be banned.
which is good news since we just returned from pactice the some of our bats reached the 300-400 hit mark. At a point the bat started to make a different sound and we all noticed the ball jumping off much better, we even hit a freak to see if it was the same and we all could hit better with the senior ASA (black bat). So we are very happy and impressed.

On another note we want to thank homerun Bill from Rip It for the clinic and we enjoyed watch those bombs over the second wall, about 340ft.
We learned alot but half of us have already forgot most of it.

Sounds like a vg option for a new bat. I waited 2 months to get the yellow one. I think I was amonung the first to get 1 of them. Has only been used in one game to date.
