July 15 NYGNYY 215 posts | Trying to understand the use of courtesy runners. This past weekend we played in SoCal and our roster had 11 players and 1 sub. Can that 1 sub be used as a courtesy runner during the game? In looking at the rules on page 48 & 49 I did not see anything specific to a sub being used as a courtesy runner. The ump did not allow the sub to run. |

When I was rehabbing from rotator cuff surgery, I was a sub at tournaments and courtesy ran in every game although I never swung a bat. Probably unnecessary to add that I never slid headfirst into any base. LOL |
