When you listed the St. George/Mesquite tournament for 2017 there were 4 fields in which this event was to played at.

Thus a 50/50 chance we play in St. George or Mesquite, if my math is correct. On top of playing this during spring break which doesn't afford us the best hotel rates etc.

Then you put out the number of teams playing, age groups and list 3 FIELDS available to play at...of which 2 are in Mesquite.

Seems you never had 4. I believe if we would have known that 2 out of the 3 were in Mesquite, we would have gambled on Mesquite instead of St. George. Not saying we would have chose correctly, just saying we would have known the better odds.

NYGNYY ... Don't over-think this one! ... It's probably best you evaluate the Mesquite/St. George "location odds" in terms of the number of fields as opposed to the number of complexes ... The Canyons Complex has seven fields ... Hunter Park and Pioneer Park have three each ... In "ballplayer math", that 7:6 fields ratio is reasonably close to 50:50 (stattad would maybe disagree, but it works for the rest of us!) ...

The entire 2016 event was played in St. George due to a quirk in City of Mesquite event scheduling (making their fields unavailable) ... We added The Fields at Little Valley complex (four fields) in 2016 to achieve the required field inventory to meet games demand for 85 teams (272 games) ... That complex was also available to us this year ... Once it became apparent Little Valley wouldn't be needed, even with 108 teams (345 games), we removed it from the Playing Facilities list to lessen confusion and eliminate players wasting time looking for the answer to the question "..I wonder who's playing at Little Valley this year?.." ...

We also have a fifth facility, but didn't list it because it's a single-field 280' diamond (The Field at Old Mill in Mesquite) ... That's a last resort site, but we have occasionally used it in the past for overflow in the older age groups during the week before St. George was a Session #1 option ...

Please note that arrangements for recurring annual larger tournaments are made almost a year in advance ... It's prudent for us to reserve and list all potential facilities and then modify the list to match the actual field/games demand when they are known, which happens shortly after the entry deadline ... We'll have The Fields at Little Valley complex on the list in 2018 ... Whether or not we'll need it is an open question ... Good luck!

Thanks for the shoutout Dave! We always stay in Mesquite regardless, because we feel there's a little more action in the casinos.

Glad you noticed, Tad! ... I used "ballplayer math" to keep it simple ... That's the math, using my example, that allows a guy who goes 7 for 13 in a tournament to come here to advertise his services for a new team by saying he batted .820 in his most recent outing! <> ... Good luck in Mesquite!
