Feb. 27 COWBOYJIMMY Men's 50 49 posts | New Dudleys $220 heat treated😗😗😗. Just trying to get my posts up there so it don't look like I'm a rookie at this |
Feb. 27 missouridave Men's 60 166 posts | New Dudleys If I understand the heat treatment as I have read on other sites, that would be altering the bats through a process other than just hitting a softball. That would make the bats illegal under current SSUSA rules. |

Feb. 28 COWBOYJIMMY Men's 50 49 posts | New Dudleys I didn't know anything about heat treated it came that way and no it's not a altered bat if it was I wouldnt use it cause I don't need to!!! I hit the ball 230 ft anywhere on the field anytime I want to!! I hit for averages 850 or better in these tournaments without any home runs!!! Haven't hit home run in 20 years!! People always need to complain about something!!! For 15 years I didn't even own a bat I can pick any bat up in dugout!! And the bats I own now and have had for Years r not even broke in cause I'm a base hitter!! This is my fourth year at senior ball I have yet to be out hit in all the tournaments I have played in!! Jesus takes care of me he would help u if u let him!! Let's hear from Brother Dave on this!! |

Feb. 28 fennellwg Men's 60 97 posts | New Dudleys We had this discussion last year around this time regarding Kelly’s heated bat breaki-in process https://seniorsoftball.com/?messageboard&viewby_thread=138376&message_topic_id=review&keywordsfound=Heat+treat Dave did comment by way of stating SSUSA definition of an “altered “ bat. You may interpret for yourself what that means in relation to your new bat.. To my knowledge, no one has ever been challenged at a senior tournament for prepping a bat this way. But it’s Not likely that anyone has ever admitted doing it, either. regards, bill |
Feb. 28 SOFTBALLNUTZ 36 posts | New Dudleys COWBOYJIMMY When the "Heated" bat was delivered to you, did it have the original wrapper on it? If so, how could the bat remain in it's original wrapper and the wrapper not melt or show signs of being heating? |
Feb. 28 COWBOYJIMMY Men's 50 49 posts | New Dudleys When the guy give me the bat that I ordered he said it was heat-treated I did not know what that was it was not in a wrapper he said all it does is make it to where it breaks in faster and with me hitting the ball it still won't be broke in in 3 years if heat treating a bat is altering the bat do you think I would have put it on here if I knew come on people get a life |
Feb. 28 missouridave Men's 60 166 posts | New Dudleys Cowboy Jimmy, The reason I did my post was I assumed that you did NOT know that the heat treatment might be a problem. Was not trying to cause you any problems just wanted you to know that this treatment might be considered an alteration of the bat. My opinion is that this treatment falls in the same category as rolling. JMO. |
Feb. 28 COWBOYJIMMY Men's 50 49 posts | New Dudleys I can't hit home runs with shaved senior bats with launch 650 balls lol |
Feb. 28 COWBOYJIMMY Men's 50 49 posts | New Dudleys I don't take people the wrong way anymore seniorsoftball is the best tournaments I have ever played in the people are nice you run in the one or two smart asses every now and then but other than that 99% of the people there are great people and they're all worried about each other as should be but believe me I would not do nothing to hurt anybody or use anything illegal I love this game and I love everybody that still playing at this level God bless everybody be safe |
Feb. 28 SSUSA Staff 3497 posts | New Dudleys We shouldn't have to keep posting this, but here we go again ... Whether or not we will be able to differentiate between a "heat treated" vs. a "normal" bat will likely be difficult ... Apparently, some players appear to believe that it's not cheating (read: using an altered bat) if you don't get caught ... Late last year, we acquired bat testers and they are making random facility appearances at all of our Home Office administered events now ... It's probably wise, and certainly moral and ethical, to leave your altered bats at home so you don't become "that guy" who gets to read about his suspension on the front page in an upcoming issue of the Senior Softball News ... __________ "..Any activity, other than normal wear and tear through the process of striking a softball with the bat in the manner intended by the manufacturer, AND which serves to alter the technical specifications and performance of that bat from what it was immediately after coming off the production line, is illegal and constitutes altering that bat.." ... __________ ** THREAD CLOSED ** |
