| Nov. 15 Chico Senior Softball 1 posts | Chico Senior Softball Club (CSSC) is headquartered in Chico Ca. Many of our members have been affected by the Campfire. The Campfire has destroyed 150,000 acres including the entire town of Paradise, CA and is reported to be the most destructive fire in California history. CSSC players are among those that have lost their homes & belongings to the Campfire. In effort to support the 42 CSSC players and their families that have lost their homes in the fire, we have set up GoFundMe. We have players that are retired, nearing retirement, self-employed and/or working. Many of our players were playing ball in our weekly fall season, or working, when they received word that their homes were being threatened by the Campfire. By the time they left the field and or their work, it was too late, the roads into Paradise were closed and police were not allowing anyone back into the town of Paradise. All they have are the clothes they wore to work on Thursday, Nov 8th. The funds raised from GoFundMe will go directly to our members and their families, to purchase items that are needed to rebuild their lives. Things we all take for granted such as clothes, towels, wash clothes, blankets, sheets, pillows, personal hygiene items, home goods, diapers, toys, school supplies, backpacks, etc. In addition, many are looking for long term replacement housing and/or transportation.
