About three weeks ago I agreed to test a prototype of the new Worth senior bat. It weighs 27.9 oz and doesn't have any graphics. I compared its shape to my U2 and the Worth has a little more curve from the ballance point to the handle. The knob has a "mini" knob cuff. I don't use any kind of taper and I don't mind this. By mini, I mean maybe 3/8".
I haven't been able to hit it like I want, as I have had a pulled hamstring for the past 2 1/2 weeks. Yesterday evening I took about 100 swings of a tee and am really impressed. I reminds me of the days when the U2 first appeared on the market. I was hitting well used Gold Dots and had been hitting them with an ASA bat maximum distance of right around 300'. Some of my mishits now went 300' and my better ones probably reached 350'.
I plan to hit tomorrow with Curt Hollis in Jacksonville and will get back with the results.
I suggested to the rep that if they could get an endloaded model to pass the 1.20 test, they should corner the market!

I hit the worth prootype in Pensacola with Bruce. The bat hit very much like the U2 Ball came off the bat and had good distance. I really like the knob cuff. the sweet spot seem real big. like the bat and would buy one. I believe it will be a very good seller for Worth.

Audie, I told Curt that I would call him this afternoon. As for the bat, I think that it is probably a result of you talking to JR last year. How about joining us today if it doesn't rain?

Bruce, sorry i couldn't make the test hitting. However, today Curt told me you each put about 30 swings on the bat, that it hit very comparable to a U2, and that he broke the dang thing. Well, duh! He breaks all of the bats, all of the time. What were you thinking? Here Curt, try my new Mayhem, whack, Ah shucks it broke. No problem. here, try my new 29EL Senior Combat. Are you sure, I already broke that other bat. Go ahead, no problem...... 8 swings later... dang, it cracked into! dude, that's %500 worth of bats in 5 minutes.

Now I only let him swing my dead bats when i am trying to break them in. A lesson learned, don't let the fox guard the hen house!
