Well after playing in several Senior Tournaments I have come to the obvious conclusion that...God didn't create all batters equal...Miken Ultra II did !!

I also have just started playing Senior ball this season. In my opinion the Ultra II is unnecessary at the 50-55 levels. Maybe let the 60+ players use them but I feel the younger guys can still hit it with 1.20 bpf bats.

You forget one basic reason why the Ull was made legal. It was due to the significant number of players that cheated by using painted bats; or altered bats. It was more of an equal playing basis when the Ull was made legal.

It still takes a good swing to get it over. Yes, people hit them out with this bat when thay cannot with others. However, they still have to hit it.

I'm 55 now and have been playing across the nation for 5 years and not all the teams hit as many as one might think.

I do think the rule on number of homers allowed makes for a Regression to the Mean on team ratings. If one allowed unlimited homers one would see a widening of levels and much quicker games.

I just came from Rockin' Reno and used an Ultra 2 for the weekend.
I had to because the Old A's are sponsored by them.
I cracked one in practice after 50 swings
(hear that guys)
and had to swing a new one
which didn't break in till the last game on Sunday.
The Ultra 2 has pop but both the Combat and
the Yellow Rip-it bat I just got are hotter.
Don't kill the messenger but it's true
and the Rip-it bat has only got 30 swings on it.
