Aug. 20 DaveDowell Men's 70 4323 posts | 40 worlds It will be posted here within minutes of us knowing ... We really don't have any incentive to withhold that type of information ... |
Aug. 20 softballlady 36 posts | 40 worlds The entry fee is due the end of August. Are you going to extend the deadline until we are certain that you have a venue for the tournament? |
Aug. 21 SSUSA Staff 3497 posts | 40 worlds softballlady ... We have already slightly changed the procedures for entering the event ... With potential entry cut-offs (and creating waiting-lists) based on field capacity, here's what we are asking you to do to secure a spot in the tournament field ... BEFORE the entry deadline date, either of these must occur: • SSUSA receives a check from your team for the full entry fee ... We will NOT deposit your check until we are reasonably certain the event will occur as planned ... If, for reasons outside of our control, the event does not take place, we will return or destroy (your choice) the check ... NOTE: There have been public complaints about problems being experienced by the USPS that have occasionally delayed mail delivery ... Teams hit the "guaranteed entry" list based upon when we receive your check, and NOT the date it may have been written and/or the date the envelope is postmarked ... • Contact SSUSA and provide your credit card information that will enable us to charge your entry fee under the same timeline as mentioned above ... We will NOT charge it until that same level of reasonable certainty occurs ... Those are the two methods that will guarantee your team a spot in the field, and we recommend the latter approach ... Good luck! ... |
Aug. 21 Veteran21 1 posts | 40 worlds Is Vegas or St. George even an option at this point. If it was between the two we could always fly into Vegas for either based off where we would be coming from. |
Aug. 21 SSUSA Staff 3497 posts | 40 worlds As of the close of business on Friday (08/21/20), it appears that neither St. George nor Las Vegas will be available for the 40's divisions of the 2020 LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters Championships ... We are hopeful of making a formal announcement by Monday or Tuesday of the location selected for Session #3 ... Final negotiations and arrangements are ongoing and should wrap up by then ... |
Aug. 22 HAT MAN Men's 50 229 posts | 40 worlds Dave, If we pay by card and the event location is not to our liking are we guaranteed a full refund? |
Aug. 22 DaveDowell Men's 70 4323 posts | 40 worlds Hi Vinnie ... YES ... We are taking the card numbers as a place holder in case of sell-out ... It'll be a while before we charge them ... Same if paying by check ... We're not depositing them yet, either ... Oh, you'll approve of the location, too! ... |
Aug. 23 HAT MAN Men's 50 229 posts | 40 worlds Thanks Dave just wanted to know a full refund can be given after location announcement. See you up the road, wink wink Vinny |
Aug. 24 SSUSA Staff 3497 posts | 40 worlds UPDATE • The location for the Men's and Women's 40-Masters Divisions is • KINGMAN, ARIZONA from September 25th through 27th (Fri-Sun) ... Those who may have previously made flight arrangements for Las Vegas should not have any reason to change them ... Good luck everyone! |
Aug. 24 HAT MAN Men's 50 229 posts | 40 worlds Thank you ssusa. Fyi for those wondering you can stay in Kingman or bull head city or Laughlin(40 min drive to Kingman) Ssusa are these the 275 fields at centennial park? If so the crew does an amazing job on maintaining them. They really take pride in their work all tournament long |
Aug. 24 DaveDowell Men's 70 4323 posts | 40 worlds Thanks HAT MAN ... Kingman (105 mil./1:38 drive time) is actually closer time-wise and mileage to LAS McCarron Airport than St. George, UT (127 mil/1:54 drive time) ... Travel safely! |
