Dec. 14 Funwiththesuns 37 posts | I notice that there were some teams that were moved up to majors after the World Masters tournament in October and now I see that they were moved back to AAA in less than 2 months. Is there a new rating list that should have come out in December? I thought if a team goes undefeated in the World Masters they would get moved up automatically. Not complaining just wanted to know what is the reason for teams to gets moved up and than back down without playing in the division that they were moved up to. They haven't played in the division that they were moved up to to know if they should be in that division or not. Please help me understanding the rating system. |
Dec. 14 TimMcElroy 947 posts | This question comes up annually in DEC / JAN. Teams attending Senior Softball-USA's TOC do so at the rating they held when the berth was earned. Some of the ratings you're likely looking at are temporary. Their actual rating will be restored once the TOC is completed. Hope this helps. |
Dec. 15 Funwiththesuns 37 posts | Tim So what you are saying that the final ratings for the 2020 will come after the TOC. What happens if the team that got moved up and than down again after 2 month's doesn't go to the TOC? Do they go back up? |
Dec. 15 SSUSA Staff 3505 posts | When a team enters the T.O.C., the Home Office confirms that team's age/rating at the event when they won their bid ... If that differs from their current rating, a temporary change is made for T.O.C. conformance and the rating will revert back after the event concludes ... This is an annual occurrence that tricks at least one person to ask this exact same question every year ... As crazy as it's been this year, it's pretty nice that at least one thing hasn't changed! ... |
