Vegas vs. St. George
Change is never easy but if it gives us the opportunity to play during the day and not at dusk or night....I'm glad. I can't remember playing at Arroyo or Hollywood so I went to their website's and looked at the reviews specific to softball fields. Not that great but some of the reviews were from a few years back. Have those fields been upgraded recently? On yesterday's announcement it stated these were the best fields in Vegas. Is the Rock going to be used now that we are playing in Vegas vs. the Stote? Looking forward to finally playing in 2021.

NY² ... Here's what I know from experience on the facilities ... Arroyo Grande in Henderson is regarded by many as the best four (or more) field complex in the Las Vegas area and you probably won't get a lot of debate on that ... Hollywood Park was re-done in the last couple/few years and enlarged from an "adequate" two-field to an "excellent" four-field complex (although one of the fields, #3, is a youth short field) ... As part of the redevelopment, the infields were re-done and a combination snack bar/rest rooms building was built ... That eliminates either Port-A-Potties or the long hike down the hill to the Community Center (when it's open) ... Hollywood is a bit of a hidden gem facility and we're happy Clark County P&R was able to make it available ...

This event has simply exploded in a good way for entries! ... The former Spring World's record for teams (other than 40+ Masters men playing at another venue later) was 120 teams in 2019 (2020 had 112 entered but the event was a COVID-19 cancellation) ... With two entry days left this year, we have 161 teams entered and are at or above theoretical capacity in both Sessions #1 and #2 ... Anyone coming in now goes straight to the "wait list" ... Session #3 was over capacity, too, until yesterday when we were able to add The Fields at Little Valley in St. George ... These are wonderful problems to have as we return to Southern Nevada and Southwest Utah stronger than ever administratively ... Travel and play safely and have fun! ... Good luck everyone! ...

NY² ... Just realized I failed to answer your softball being used query ... Sorry about that! ... We will be using the Stote ball and NOT the Rock ball for the Men's 65+ Divisions playing in Las Vegas ... We will continue to use The Rock at the SSUSA Southwest Championships and the SSUSA World Championships despite the circumstance that LVSSA is no longer affiliated with those two (or any other) SSUSA events ... Again, Good luck! ...
