July 12 batguyaz 134 posts | I am going to buy a the new U2 with the old knob. Can anyone tell me if it has the 1.20 stamp on it ? Someone told me it no longer is on the bat and our league requires the 1.20. |
July 12 cpope Men's 75 160 posts | Yes they do, I just got 3 from Kellys and they all have the 1.20 stamp on it. |
July 12 batguyaz 134 posts | thanks. is kelly the best price or is there another place to go. |
July 13 cpope Men's 75 160 posts | batgoyaz, I guess their are other places but I have had good luck with Kellys. They always treat you right and Mike Kelly still plays a little softball so I feel he knows what a player needs and trys to take care of us. |
July 13 sbaddict 24 posts | notice that these new ones are 26 oz. the original U2 were 27 oz.! There was no 26 oz. so that tells me something is different:) Good Luck:) |
July 13 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | I don't think mikens patent would allow them to produce the SAME EXACT bat. They are now in 26'es (which some repainted original greys were, a few hundred plus or so had a bubble also,) but I doubt the actual make up of these is the same as the 1st batches were with the paper knob sticker. Or even for that matter with the later issued bubbles. Best ones were the paper stickered and few bubbles before them. Marketing....say you made what they liked and sell what you can. MHO |
July 13 batwise 35 posts | Miken has no say it what K2 wants to do. The once mighty king of bats is now just a shadow of a large ocrp monster. Not really a bad thing. Miken sales are slow to say the least. Big brother is looking to see if Worth ( also K2) can pick up there the broken U2 has left off. Make a change here and there, add some new paint and the senior group will buy into the .new' bat gimmick. Don't get me wrong guys, not putting down any company or product. Just telling it as it is. |
