I joined the swinging Strike Out club today. First time had 0 and 2 count which is no problem with the player pitching. Next pitch was a nice waist high pitch and I just lost sight of it and swung and missed.

Good part of day is I ended up 4 for 5 with 2 doubles with everything being hit hard on a line 50-60' high and about 150' distance.

Fred when you get a chance please send me a case of beer, I see your are in Mass I'm guessing Sam Adams is popular. Isn't that the penalty now for stiking out. On another note be glad your still in their swinging keep up the good work.

Fred,
I think we all have done or will, do it:

My motto was always to keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging.

Sounds like Fred is a good Catholic boy with guilt written all over his face. I have learned that at my age of wisdom or just plain stubborness, I am not going to swing at a bad pitch and get into a bad habit. We all know how these umpires vary from game to game with their calls. I do not feel there is nothing wrong in a KO if the pitch was not there for the taking....I mean hitting....

I once had to take a lie detector test for a job. While he was setting up his equipment, the guy administering the test told me to relax, that there was nothing to be nervous about. I told him that I had 17 years of Catholic schooling and that some times I felt guilty when I hadn't even done anything. He wrote down on my file:"17 years of Catholic schooling".

I wish I could use those reasons for an excuse but we use a strike mat/plate and I am known for the knowing the strike zone pretty good. The pitch was right down the heart of the plate just overt belt high. For some reason I just lost sight of it and missed it.

Fred,
Is that U trip. I used to play it, but don't see it any more in my neighborhood. Or at least don't hear about it.
They may of called it modified.
Good pitching game though.

Don't let it wear you down, Cat. Once I accepted that I am probably not going to heaven, I found that there are very few tough decisions left in life.
