June 5 TXTrouble3 Men's 50 10 posts | Couldnt find a rule stating this.... If 50 Major plays 50 AAA teams...how many homeruns would be allowed? Understand Major gives 5 runs and would be Home Team.. Thanks in advance just looking for clarification... |
June 5 TimMcElroy 947 posts | You always play to the HR rule of the lower rated team. In this case, 3 HR per team. |
June 5 TXTrouble3 Men's 50 10 posts | Thanks for your input Tim. Juat couldn't find it anywheres in writing... |
June 5 Donna McGuire 66 posts | This is covered in rule 13.3(8)E., part of which says: “If there is a difference in rules governing teams in a mixed division, the rules governing the weaker, or older, teams are used.” |
Aug. 2 Mark Peevey 3 posts | The homerun rule should be changed! Why are you punishing the Major team twice? Having to give up 5 runs and give up 3 homeruns? |
Aug. 2 TimMcElroy 947 posts | Everyone walked in the door under the assumption that they were average players (i.e. AAA). Getting to the Major level suggests that, at least most of your team has proven itself to be above average offensively and defensively. You play better defense, and will record outs that a AAA team will not. You will also score runs with, or without home runs. The "average" team won't do those things as consistently as an above average team. IMO, you aren't being penalized twice. You're being asked to compete using some of your other skills. Major should treat games vs AAA teams as an OPPORTUNITY to fine tune their game. I've seen it 100 times in Las Vegas. Major teams that play defense, base hit and use HR wisely are playing on Sunday while those that are more interested in hitting 400 ft solo shots are in the stands watching. |
