Your last long statement about the negative aspects of our senior ball programs as it were are amusing but do have some merit. That being on the thread for the snowbird guy looking for a team.
I think our overall problem is that they are the only ones going on for us. So if one goes (ie:any player, team, fan or whatever) and you know from past experience. which most of us do, that something will ruin your day weekend and all. why go.
Botton line sort of, is that we love the game,
like to complain,
can't get satisfaction by it,
nothing is really ever done about criticism, even with valid points.
But we still go. Only real effective way to protest is to do as unions do strike, but for these purposes it would be not come.
Doubt that's going to happen. May get one here or there but not on a scale where it will matter and get something done.
This is be far the best oiled machine that gets the engine moving. There are burrs in the cogs, but no "real tech"** walking around looking at them to see if they can be removed oiled or replaced. Perhaps that is what is needed a voice....
However the "real tech"*(s) are the ones that do listen and I know there are at least to. Dave and Fran
Going to Roseville, CA this month by any chance?

For sure you are correct on the cost. Alot of the 3 day tournaments could easily of been done in two. But that's another thing. I've been playing senior league ball for the last 10 years any where from M-F and possible weekend T afterward. Alot of those weeks had 13 game. I just stopped 3 nights a week a week ago. May regret it but cost was factor besides some rules they keep altering.
All I will be doing is travel ball as much as I can find, and one thurs nite league game(s) because we use good balls I supply instead of restricted corkers.
Weekenders run me about 100-250 all incusive due to distance my main team may choose to go to.
Would rather use tha league costs to play elsewhere and meet new people & see others not seen for awhile as well.
A few years back I played twice in a Palm Springs and 2 Manafee\Helm tournaments and was one of only 2 teams there for that bracket.
Haven't cared to go back.
