I wouldn't mind playing the 40's either, but the way it's been going I think your right.
I hope to see you as well, you do a good job. Please give my reguards to your family.

M,
Any why is that? Oh, because SSUSA allows it.
I can understand allowing the women to use it but not men under 50. sorry. jmo
Good point on hitting the middle.
Guess I might have to wear more than I do out there....

Taits I can confirm that the 40's in SSUSA can use the same as the 50 and above. I can tell you some good stories, fun to watch though. They also have the up the middle rule if it hits the picher on a line it's an out.

Lecak,
At least they should have better reflexes to avoid a hit. But not much good for the pitcher (rule call) if they do get it hard.
The guys i played agains until lately were 18-30 for the most part. A few older, but not as a group.
I stopped when two were hit by me I never saw. Two different guys same bat....
At the Rancho park, up the hill by the Reno Univ. I saw a few balls land in the parking lot by some 40 year olds. That's about a 350 shot, given the height of the lot.
Do they really need it? They already have age, reflexes and strength in their favor for the most part. I guess the added bat power is just one more +.

As a 40 player I / we can't wait to play given we get to swing the ultra II. We played up in Reno a few weeks ago and got to launch bombs at will. Granted our team can hit Hr's with single wall bats swing the ultra II makes it even more fun.

With only 2 teams to date for the 40's, I wonder who they will pit you against. That should be interesting.
As for the one 75 yr old team, I don't think they will have that problem. I could see them down to the 60's.
