Sept. 4 JohnO28 Men's 50 107 posts | Thought I saw this talked about earlier this year but can't find it now. I thought I had read that if for example a 50AAA player was also playing 55 Major he would then be classified as a Major player in both 55 and 50s. Is that true? |
Sept. 4 DaveDowell Men's 70 4321 posts | That's incorrect, John ... The player in your hypothetical carries the Rating Index "R/I" of the highest rated age/division of participation ... But in this instance, the R/I for both 50-AAA and 55-Major is "7" ... No difference ... Is it possible you were thinking of the change the Rules Committee made last year (Rulebook ยง4.2(6)B. on page 23) to allow a player playing in, say, 55-Major to play "down" one age group in the same Major rating without adversely affecting his experience rating for the younger group? ... That would "fit the facts" a bit better ... |
