Geez Wes couldn't you find some hotter places to retire to like maybe the surface of the sun?

I took BP with Stoneman on Thursday and bascially he knew just about every person that came into the complex.
Once he's done this weekend he will probably have an answer for you after he's done catching up on his sleep.

WES: Phonex, is 5-9 degrees hotter than Vegas. Vegas, had a few weeks of over 110. Vegas, lies about it's heat. this past summer we were 115, 116, 117, 119, 122, 119, 118.

The city's temp, is taken about 50' to 75' off the ground. My temp gauge & cell phone temp averages about 5 degree more.

Fla, is nuts. Too many ol' ones. To much humidity. If, u do go to Fla, stay w/ in 10 to 15 miles of the coast. If, u r into Hunt' & Fish', Fla, is great.

I will sent u more. My good friend

I will also, take to Patty, Ho-Jo, the Hollis bros, & others.

Interesting how you only named people who have been even remotely friendly with me. You don't need programming help, you need serious therapy.

You and your buddy from California need to understand that Senior softball was neither started by you or for you, and will go on long after the two of you. Well, at least at the local levels. Tourney ball needs some help.

Bashbro1:
I took it as you were merely trying to answer the call for a programmer. You seem like to fairly bright guy to me and one that usually isn't involved in controversy.

Desert Guy:
Again, you seem to be a tactful guy who is also well read. I believe that you have been sincere in your effort to keep things positive. My only discomfort with you was that you (and some others) spend too much time and space consoling someone that desparately needs attention. The hope of others was that he'd go away.

Replant:
You took the same position that I did (10 days ago or so) on the free speech platform. I still believe in it but I do believe that some folks really have worn it out. You are probably a decent guy that none of us ever seem to see at the tourneys. Do you play Senior softball? This is merely a point of curiosity on my part... not intended to be a biting question.

Next generalization:
You seem to feel that your voice should be louder than others and your views need to be repeated over and over... as if, we don't have the ability to go back and re-read them in the event that we lose track of your many insights. As you have admitted, you don't actually play our game but feel perfectly at home being critical of it. You have been banned from here once and, as I understand it, at least one other softball sight.
You have also stated that we have our little clique and we only let a few folks into it. With all of this as background information, here is my question. Who is in this clique and who isn't?
You clearly aren't in it as it seems to me that we actually reserve membership to those that do play... not those that say they do 'but elsewhere'. So I agree with you that you aren't in it but WHO is? You're not in it because of your attitude, not because of your opinions. Most of the things that you do would be cause for a good spanking but you are neatly tucked behind your keyboard. I'm certain that you wouldn't act this way if you played ball with or against us... or saw us at the field. That is one of the things that the clique members respect... we do see each other and we do go out of our way to acknowledge each other... we are accountable for what we state on here.
Bear in mind that I'm speaking for myself (on this entire post) and have not concurred with anyone else on this matter. This question is open to ANYONE that can shed some light on this matter for me. The answer should be more about who isn't in it as the membership list would be too long to report.
THANKS,
BOB WOODROOF

wood, "our game"? This is what I mean by some of you guys thinking you invented it. To correct you AGAIN I have played senior tournaments, Major-Plus in 2006 to be exact. I did not get off to a good start, neither did the team though I don't know how many of them will admit that, and we parted ways.

I was to play Major this year but a messed up rotator cuff playing in early May against Macenko ended that. Yea, even Mike plays in "league".

To name a few, the clique includes "einstein", stone, lecak, and you. I am not in it because my father taught me that you are judged by the company you keep.

You include Einstein and I in the same group. Have you ever noticed that he and I differ on almost every issue? It's true. But I still respect his right to express himself... and I presume that he does the same for me. Lecak and I are on opposite sides many times.
My question isn't who is in it but who isn't.

Wood--of course I play Senior softball(major). a person wouldn't find all this so hilarious if you didn't play. Do you have to play softball to comment on this board. Maybe some players just ready to turn 50 have an interest and have questions. Maybe I should say, did have an interest. The hot heads on this board don't make things easy. As I mentioned previously, my question was merely a point of curiosity. I also told you that I agreed with you on the free speech issue. I'm not sure why my points were so difficult, I really felt that I had already clarified them.
As of now, no one has to play senior softball to be on this message board. After 12/31 that might not be true. As much as I'd like to post on the 'Soldier of Fortune' website, I don't because I feel that I have nothing valid to offer... not having been in the Army since '68.
If you (or anyone else) actually do play senior softball, I personally accept you/their comments more readily. But this is just my opinion. I know of others that feel quite differently.
I've always felt that the folks that live in the country are not as qualified to discuss urban renewal as the ones that actually dwell in the city. Hence my previous question to you...

TNG:
1) I do differentiate the people on here that I know from the ones that I don't . I also do this in my daily travels.
The guys on here that state that they don't play senior ball have less credibilty to me than the ones that do... I would think that my reasoning on this matter would need no further clarification.
2) I do understand that more would play if it suited them more. I also know that many folks do make the effort to enhance the product. However, when they do it may be a negative in the eyes of the minority.

I really don't care why you (or others like you) don't play. I like what I'm doing and this is true of the vast majority of the people that I see 5-6 times per year... or more. We do it because we like the product (for the most part) and we really enjoy the camaraderie.
I didn't like all of the aspects of the NSPC years ago but I played because of my peers and because I enjoyed playing against the best.
I primarily make the decisions on which events that GSF will attend each year. I choose the events that have the best track record and that are likely to attract the most teams. We'll have 8 teams in LV this weekend (roughly the number of teams in each NSPC event). I will know someone from every team... in most cases, several people from each team. I look forward to seeing them, lying to them and playing against them.
I hear this same thought process from most of the guys that we play. GSF will play 4 national events this year... one had 4 teams (ASA rules and in an obscure location... MN), one had 6 teams (KC) and the other 2 will have 8 teams (LV & AZ).
By my thinking, we hit the nail on the head with our choices. You and many others have made comments about 'too many associations' and the lower turn out each year. We have seen this for some time and have avoided those events. Yes, I believe that there are too many assns but I'm powerless to change this... other than to only support the ones that make sense to us.
There will be over 300 teams in AZ in 2-3 weeks. By my standards this is a smashing success. You need to get out more and see what is going on elsewhere. There really is a lot to experience.
BTW, the assn that only had 4 teams (MN) this year did have 6 last year, one of which was AMR... this was in Palm Springs. The one in AZ that will have 8 only had 4 last year (in Seattle). We feel that their stock is rising because of the many positive changes that they have implemented... many of which came from this board.
So, if you consider all that I've said on this specific post, it may give you more insight as to why I value 'experienced opinions' more than others. GSF, like other teams, make choices each year that is based upon the feedback of guys/teams that are actually out there playing senior softball. The current LVSSA feedback is particularly valuable to us as we're headed there tomorrow.

Sad thing about all this posturing, is that, it seems to be more about control of the board than it is about softball. I have not made malicious comments toward others and have advocated free speech. Yet, I get called out, called names and bullied. Advocating free speech, in my opinion, is not taking sides. Although to some, I guess it seems so.

Remember, I did play in some tournaments a couple years ago so I am not totally blind to what goes on. Certainly not as experienced as many of you, not completely unaware.

I probably will get back at some point to at least local tourneys, but will need more convincing that spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars to play the same handful of teams for the honor of buying my own ring is worth it.

Yes, and I've made the effort to make my position clear on the 'misunderstanding'.

Gary, most of us play for sponsored teams (major + ), which mitigates some of the expenses. If you can find one of them in your area and can get out of town, I'm confident that you'll get a more full picture of what is going on. In So Cal we have one set of circumstances in local/regional events but an entirely different picture emerges when we travel to LV, AZ or Nor Cal. It even gets better when we go to KC, Plano or the like.

TNG & Replant showed up at the same time & have been in sync since "emerging". Neither identfies themselves and each uses the other as a comfort zone. I'm wondering if we have one person peeing in the pool as two. The sentance structure is similar. Anyone else notice this?

Pete, try wondering about the birds and the bees, or something you might know. That wasn't it. And I have been identifed a LONG time ago.

Nice try, though.
