Oct. 7 bashbro1 Men's 70 267 posts | During the Las Vegas Masters last weekend there were some very, very, long bombs hit by some of the most notable senior softball players in the land. As my amigo ‘einstein’ noted in a previous thread, some even cleared the retaining wall beyond the fence playing on field #3. Yes, the wind was blowing out strong to left field during both Friday and Saturday's play, but not so much on Sunday evening when none other than Jim Clattabaugh from Spicer/Turn-Two, out of the great state of Maryland, (LHB) hit one over my head in right field, over the light standard and disappeared into to Las Vegas darkness! Well, I had the presence of mind to recover that ball that in my estimation was at a minimum 450feet plus without the wind aiding it. So what’s my point? Well, I placed that ball into my bat-bag that made it through TSA security @McCarran airport and landed in Seattle hours later safely! Now that’s that a long ways for sure for a 44/400 ball to travel. I got home and took some pics of the ball, clearly showing it’s a Decker Big-Shart/USSSA Elite 44COR with 400lbs of compression, which is not a 50COR 650compression as some were lead to believe or there abouts. Anyhow, just paste in the link provided below into your address line in your local Brower, to view a short (5) pic slide show of the ball beginning with the HAT (i.e. The Ball and the Hat Title) that was presented to Ruth 60’s for finishing second behind the powerful Spicer team. Hats off to Spicer! Bashbro1( Ruth 60’s Player/Photography/Website Developer out of Kent, WA) http://good-times.webshots.com/slideshow/560966866oVfTPY |
