Oct. 15 2121 2 posts | I was looking at the schedule for the games in Phoenix and I was surprised to see that the east/west games are part of the round robin. It seems to me that was suppose to be a seperate game. By doing what they are doing they are forcing one of those teams to be at least 1 and 1 going into the seeding. I thought this was a special game and would be seperate from the round robin. Any opinions or answer to why they are doing it this way. Not the way it was done in the past. thanks |
Oct. 15 CAT 200 posts | That is a good point 2121.. In the past you are correct with 2 RR games and then the National championship. We would use the RR games as a warm-up and preparation for the National game. It was very difficult for us to find practice fields and that is why it was so nice to have a few games under our belt before the National game was played...I really think that teams need to speak up and make certain things are done correctly...More enty fees and less games ???!!!! |

Looks like if it's your first game of the round robin, it's also your opponents first game. As for the possible 1 - 1 seeding going into the tourney, it's better than 0 -2 and besides you've got to beat everybody to win it anyway. Also, Terry mentioned this format at Western Worlds so it was no surprise to us. |

Oct. 16 2121 2 posts | We were not told that this format would be used. But apart from that, I thought the purpose of the triple crown was to earn the right to play in the east/west game. We earned the right to play the extra game. We all paid more entry fee than a normal tournament for the chance to play this game and have a chance at the triple crown, and now it is nothing more than a round robin game. What was the extra money for? It is what it is but I would think everybody should be upset about not playing the game as a special part of the weekend. thanks for letting me express my opinions on this website. |
