Oct. 23 cpope Men's 75 160 posts | 3 hr's and 1 up What ever became the rule for hitting the 1 up HR in the bottom of the seventh inning to win a game. I know this wasa tossed around for a while but did it ever become clear id the home team could win the game with a HR if it was the fourth HR in a 3 HR's and 1 up tournament. This happen this weekend in Phoneix and cost us a KEY game in the playoffs. No sour grapes, just asking. Besides I am already home and don't want to go back. :) Charlie Pope Sunrays 60 Major |
Oct. 23 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | 3 hr's and 1 up Charlie, to the best of my understanding is that some associations allow "going up" in the bottom of the last inning. I'm not sure which ones. The same holds true for a foul ball on the last strike, is the ball in play or is it dead? Different associations rule differently. Hope to see you in Ft. Meyers. |
Oct. 23 Nancy Allen Men's 55 1438 posts | 3 hr's and 1 up Only NSA does not allow the home team to go one up in the last inning ("to win" is not in the rule and would be a little misleading). They changed it to this the second year because someone got all worried about home team advantage at the convention. NSA is also the association that the third strike caught foul is dead. I met Bruce in Alabama the year that their team found every oddball NSA rule while they were playing. There are not that many, but one after the other, they kept finding them during play. |
