Comments on Las Vegas tournament
Our team particpated in this SSUSA tournament for the first time this past weekend and I would like to pass along a few observations:

1. The Freedom Park facility is absolutely abysmal. We were all keyed up to play in this event and when we drove up Friday morning and saw the fields, we couldn't believe a tournament of this magnitude would use such a complex. There are other newer facilties in and around Las Vegas that were not used that should be used in lieu of Freedom Park in the future.

2. The "extra" game concept for the teams that go 0 - 2 in the double elimination tournament play needs to be revisited. Either eliminate that game altogether or have those teams play each other as an additional game. I understand it may result in one less game for those affected teams, but sometimes that is the price we pay for not performing on a given weekedn. Also, it will shorten the bracket by one full set of games, allowing the teams to get out of there and hour and a half earlier on Sundays.

3. Please clearly define what is a "walk-off" hr. It was almost comical how it seemed to alternate each game. Not that it is a big deal, but consistency lessens the amount of rhetoric every time the first home run is hit at the start of every game.

All in all, we enjoyed our first experience and look forward to supporting SSUSA in their events in 2008. The people in the Sacramento office are great to work with, as well as the folks out at the fields, including the umpires. Please take my comments above as constructive.

udaplaya enlighten me on where these fields are at. I've covered every inch of the Las Vegas valley I must of missed a few of these new diamonds. Fields that were not used that I know of are Cheyenne which I believe was booked, Arroyo Grande which was booked, Russell Road which is an overflkow for Arroyo, Boulder City and Mesquite which is 70 miles from Vegas. Sunset and Warm Springs are even worse than Freedom. Shadow Rock has no facilities period I guess you could pee in the desert.
