I probably already know the answer--that I need to check with ASA, USSSA, etc--but I thought I would throw my query out here and seek advice from all of you who are much more astute than I on the subject of softball bats.

Here is where I am. Today, I ran across a friend who owns a sporting goods store nearby. Because of all the frustration over legality of bats, he basically quit selling adult bats and softballs, storing what he had away. I did not get a look at all of them but I saw 1998 Demarini\'s, 99/00 TPS, Worth and others. None had ASA, USSSA or other organization stamps. But most had the BPF120 stamp. My friend thinks all these bats are illegal. Is he correct, or could those still be used?

And in closing: Merry Christmas and May God bless you all. Thanks, Scrap Iron Steve or Southpaw

For SSUSA if a bat has a BPF 1.20 stamp it's good to go.

With asa you never know from one day to another.

I believe all those bats are legal. If you want to check go to the ASA website and check the approved list. They have some pretty old bats on that list.
