DRAFT Game Schedules and Brackets for the 2008 Spring World Championships in Palm Springs have been posted and are available from the links on the Home Page ... As always, these TENTATIVE schedules are subject to change and become final ONLY when released as "Official" at the Manager's meeting the evening before play commences ... The Master Games & Fields Grid has also been posted ...

NOTE - There are 88 teams entered this year, which from a scheduling perspective feels somewhat like putting 100 lbs. of softballs in a 90 lb. ball bag. Field availability and times are very tight ... There are a variety of different formats for some divisions, which were required to ensure each team's 5-game guarantee while at the same time not having to deny entry any teams that wanted to play. These formats are a change from some recent tournament structures ...

Have fun and Good Luck to all! ... DAVE

SCHEDULE REVISION - Men's 60 Platinum and Men's 55-Major ...

Due to a late entry, the 60-Platinum Division increased from 9 to 10 teams ... Nominal changes to the Thursday seeding games (one team plays later than originally scheduled) and a ripple effect to the Friday start of the 55-Major Division (teams start one game slot later than originally scheduled ...

ALL Men's schedules are current with a revision date of 03/03/2008 ... Please disregard any previous versions ... Women's schedules were unchanged and have a revision date of 03/02/2008 ...

Participating Teams List and Master Games and Fields Schedule grid have been changed accordingly ...

Good luck to all! ... DAVE

So how does everyone feel about playing all games at Fields of Dreams? Great place to play....but no Ultras for the entire tourney.

Ron, congrats! Thanks for filling in. I have to agree with you. while playing at this complex will be nice, not using our bats sucks. And why are the others legal?

The owners of Field of Dreams need to get their s!#% together!

The BLFD bat restriction applies ONLY to the Miken Ultra II ... All other otherwise legal Senior bats are premissable, including the ones mentioned in this thread.

So what happened to the Mar 13-15 part? Our schedule calls for games on Thur and Fri only.
SSWC has essentially turned its collective back on the folks that made airline reservations coinciding with the SSWC travel brochure and the SSWC web site. Disappointing, to say the least.
It has been stated that there is a shortage of fields in P.S. Hello! This is NOT a recent development. Putting '100 pounds in a 90 pound bag' has NEVER been a workable strategy there... but this ratio definitely seems understated. This fact should be crystal clear to you since you had us there last year... at this time. There is a point when quantity invades quality... you have exceeded it as it relates the the 60 major + division. If you prefer to not have the major plus teams in your events, just simply state it. We're all grown people here, if it's a matter of dollars and cents to you, we'll understand... but tell us beforehand.
Should we expect the Reno event to follow this lead or will it follow the brochure? We'd like to know as quickly as possible so that we can make other arrangements if need be. GSF is done with mid-week events.

I guess one can say there really is no truth in advertising, But their disclaimer is in the rules...
This is one of many reasons I do not go to PS anymore.
Going up that mountain lift should be a great view about now, even if cold.

Taits, all truths being told, we can live with it being a 2 day event... just let us know earlier.
It's really overkill, at this time of year, to string out 5-6 games over 3 days... it's the extra hotel night and/or airline changes that stick in my craw... a little consideration goes a long way.BW
