The have 60 teams playing 50 & 55 teams. They use a rating system for teams quite unlike the ratings here. There is supposed to be a mid point for bracketing 1-55 and 56-108. but for the next tournament scheduled for Brentwood, they have a 60's team rated at 67 playing 3 teams rated at 29, 33, and 43 as well as two 55 teams rated at 23 and 47. they talk about parity as for their rule 25 but just "gave" a 5 run 'equalizer" in the 3rd revanp for that "B" bracket. There are teams rated higher than the 60's team in that bracket that should of have been stuck there to be the sacred lamb as it were,
So you new teams need to watch out, or get jacked in the process.
I hear they don't always give out their awards also you get "Their on order" after a year gone by. i think that was the same TD as Brentwood.

The rating system has been in place for the past 5 years I've been playing, NCSSA. The teams that are stronger in their divisions are rated in the top 50+ of Nor Cal. It puts the top 50's and 55 team automatically in the top 50 to prevent them from overpowering the teams that aren't at the same competitive level. Most of the 55, 60, 65+ teams are AA, AAA, Majors or Major Plus, warranting their ranking. Throughout the season the ranking are adjusted. The beginning of the season the ranking last achieved is what you start with. Last season we won our opening tourney and it placed us in the top 25 and we got hammer and also hammered back, no complaints, We played in the end of season event at big league dreams and were placed against 55AAA, 60 Major, 55 AA and got bounced in our bracket, unhappy about the outcome, but no complaints, we showed up and played. Let’s just see how things work out before we start looking at the negative. The Brackets have changed now 3 times.
If you’re focusing on bracket B then concern your self with the Strong 55 team that play 50's. The bracket is a good one. I think giving 5 runs is unnecessary

Jef,
There is a newly put together in that B bracket. 60 team.
Ratings spread is 44 points now. Even worse than when the Blackhawks were entered before they pulled out, it was 38.
All are going to play I'm sure, but they "say" they want parity, (Rule 25) but it never happens.
Don'f forget that they do not use the AA,AAA, major ratings system either. Perhaps they should, but you managers voted NO against it when it came up at the meeting.
Will see you there, as long as it doesn't get rained out.

This is just my opinion. I'm no longer the manager of the team, I'm just a player this season. We voted for another player to coach the team this season. See you in Brentwood.
