Discussion: 50 + AA home run rule

I don't understand punishing a player for hitting a home run. In AA 50 + no home runs where allowed. Any home run was an out. Why not have a 1 per game or progressive rule. Strokes are never deducted from golfers for hitting a drive too far. Basketball players do not lose points for shooting a 3 pointer. I can believe they would allow the Miken Ultra bat to be used in this tournament and than call you out if you hit the ball too far.

P.S. Some of the best umpiring I have observed all year.

Local, I understand your feeling when a ball goes out of the park you would like a HR.
For the game of softball at the senior and young guys, certain levels of play do not allow HR's.
The reason is teams will get 1 or 2 guys that can hit a HR when the bases are loaded or at a critical time of the game and win most of those games.
AA is a skill game, decent hitting and decent defense.
AAA is the same but at a higher level where you can go 1 up on HR's.
Major and Major + is a fairly large jump from the prior two.

Most orgs are trying to provide a level playing field for all seniors.
Note; I used the word 'trying'.

Many of the tournaments I played in allow the HR ball to be counted as a single. That alleviates the 4 base dingers and still allows the stronger hitters to swing HARD.

local, that is why they have 4 divsions,in the AA its defence and basehitting.if u have a player who can go out he should be playing up.
