Equalizer Rule
We are a 60's AA team we played in a SSUSA Qualifier Tournament in Austin, We played against a 65 Majors team, should we have been given one (1) run from innings 2-6?

Absolutely. And sometimes they will give you the extra fielder, too.

I saw the conversation with your manager, about the runs, and you are right you should have been given the runs or the 11th defender .I know 3 50"s teams got mad and went saturday i heard a 60"s team did the same was thar your team.To many rules were disregarded.

Equalizing: perhaps there is a correlation between TH's article on winning and how "equalization" is met. The article; " Being competitive means teams have a CHANCE to win. It does not mean a GOOD Chance to win; it means on a good day they MIGHT win." If you take the CHANCE to win being the AA team, and the GOOD chance as a AAA or better team you better hope your having the good day and MIGHT win... lol
Article is correct as I see it even if not playing completely even up. Unfortunately too many tournaments are not as even as most would like.
But perhaps if you play better teams & watch them, while trying to pick up on tactics they use, (if used) might help you out.
But if your post was as stated a 60's AA team playing a 65 Maj. team I personally feel yes you should have got at least the 5 runs or 11 players. Your younger age off set one rating, but you should have been entitled to to one for the major rating.
They do the best they can given the teams that show.
I doubt you would have posted if you won, but what was the score ?

TAITS:--the final score was 15 to 12 in the seeding game , the first time the 60 AA team played the 65 major team. i am not sure if the the 5 extra runs or additional player option came up in this game. in the double elimination game, the 60 AA asked for the 5 runs,, the umpire said he would check with the director and left the field, he was gone for 10 - 15 minutes. the manager of the 65 major team said giving up the 5 runs would be okay when the umpire came back. i believe at this point, the 60 AA team decided to go home. i was not at the actual gathering of the managers and the umpire when all this came down. i will not identify the 60 AA TEAM, but the 65 major team was the TEXAS LEGENDS 65'S. WHICH BY THE WAY, PLAYED IN THE 60 DIVISION, the recapping the games played by the texas legends in this tourney; 1) game #1 cycle world 60's- 23 runs-- texas legends 65's 2 runs, game 2 ) TEXAS LEGENDS 65'S 15 RUNS---60AA TEAM 12 RUNS. GAME 3) TEXAS TORNADOS 60'S 17 RUNS-- TEXAS LEGENDS 16. GAME 4 ) FORFEIT BY THE 60 AA TEAM. game #5 ) finals- TEXAS TORNADO 15-- TEXAS LEGENDS 14. this is what i remember of the games, thanks, frank armijo, TEXAS LEGENDS 65'S, #11 RIGHT FIELDER.

I was way off base on team names here.... It helps to have all info going into something...Any one can figure out team involved now. If the problem is bothersome for the mgr,, have him go through the process in writing. Unfortunately words aren't worth much any more like it used to be. That is bad in its self. A persons word and\or a hand shake isn't what it used to be.
I would guess to say that someone got pissed for a team leaving especially is their was a team wanting to play and couldn't...for what ever reason...Scores do not seem out of line for moving you up,  but perhaps BECAUSE they were "close" they "rewarded" you...doubt it.
Have seen teams leave before but only once for something like this. Catching a plane I have seen a lot.
Any heu (not how) you can always attend 4-6 tournaments and loose your a$$ & $$$, then hope to get put back down... lol

Alternative to it is local tournaments or what I call Shirt T's, or Mom & pops. They can be good and about half the fee cost. That is how I view the ones we have. Some are much better than others.
What ever you do, have a good time doing it.
Some day I'd like to get back to Houston and play in one...When I was there (68-70) softball was un heard of.
