Re: the participating teams list for any tournament.
I like this. It looks good to see 17 teams "participating" in a division. However, the end result is usually playing 2-3 teams for the M+ teams and the others are usually mixed.
It would help every one if it were broke down within those age divisions into where the teams were rated, AA up through M+, when they make up & post that list. Something like this:
50's listing,
then under that, the M+ teams, ...
M teams, AAA teams, ....
AA teams.
Giving a more accurate accounting as to whom you may actually face on the field. Look at the Western Nationals (SLC) 40 div for the eastern, only 2 teams were listed they knew they had a 50\50 chance on winning the whole thing unlike the odds had their been 5 other teams to actually compete against (same age and ratings).
For the teams 1. They have a better idea who they will play. 2. If only two-three teams are entered & "rated" the same in the division, is it worth it?
For SSUSA 1. They may loose teams, but that could happen anyway & does, ....
2. Might spoil the "fun" reading the complaints ....
3. A little more typing for Dave. ....
4. You already have their fees and the rules by which teams enter guarantee you will reap the total fee for this reason at least. Since this list is posted about a month to a month half on the outside, before the tournament that 60 day before the mgr meeting dead line has no effect.
I'm sure other players can think of other positive as well as negative effects for adding this, I think the benefits out weigh the negative.
